The Bank of Thailand ( Thai: ธนาคาร แห่ง ประเทศไทย; international parlance: Bank of Thailand) is the central bank of the Kingdom of Thailand.

History and General

The Bank of Thailand was initially set up as the "Thai National Banking Bureau ." On 28 April 1942, the " Bank of Thailand Act" was published, in which the " Bank of Thailand " was broadcast all responsibility of all central functions. The Bank participated in the December 10, 1942 officially went into operation.

The Bank of Thailand is led by a governor and four deputies. Prasarn Trairatvorakul was appointed on 1 October 2010 to the governor and was the successor of Tarisa Watanagase.

Seat of the central bank is Bangkok Bangkhunprom.

Since May 2000, the monetary policy is directed to a target range of core inflation (price index excluding energy and Rohnahrungsmittel ). Currently, the target range is 0 % - 3.5%.
