Barbara Bergmann

Barbara Rose Bergmann ( born July 20, 1927 in New York City ) is an American economist. She is professor emerita of American University and the University of Maryland, College Park.

Life

Barbara Bergmann gained at Harvard University, a Ph.D. During the administration of John F. Kennedy, she was a member of the advisory staff of the President. In addition, she worked as a staff member of the Agency for International Development and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the 1980s she wrote a monthly column on economic topics for the New York Times. She was President of the Eastern Economic Association, the Society for the Advancement of Socio- Economics from the American Association of University Professors and the International Association for Feminist Economics.

Scientific Work

The main interest of the miner is in the field of gender roles in the economy, the labor market theory and the computer simulation of economics systems.
