Barham Salih

Barham Ahmad Salih (Arabic: د برهم احمد صالح, DMG Barham Saalih, . Kurdish د بهرههم ئهحمهد ساڵهح, Berhem Saalih, . * 1960 in Sulaymaniyah ) is an Iraqi politician.

Life

Barham Salih studied civil engineering at Cardiff University, and Statistics and Computational Modeling at the University of Liverpool ( doctorate). He is one of the leaders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK ), which he joined in 1976. He is said to have very good relations with the U.S., because he, inter alia, Ten years representative of the PUK in the U.S. was. In April 2002, he survived an assassination attempt at his home in Sulaimaniya.

After the local elections in the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan in 2009, Barham Salih was elected in September 2009, the new prime minister of the regional government.
