Bas Maliepaard

Bastiaan " Bas " Maliepaard ( born April 3, 1938 in Willemstad ) is a former Dutch cyclist.

1959 Bas Maliepaard vice-champion of the amateurs in the road race, behind Täve Schur. Then he stepped over to the professionals. In 1960 he was Dutch road champion and third in the individual pursuit on the track. In 1961 he was a second time Dutch champion in the road race.

1963 Maliepaard won the third stage and the points classification in the Vuelta a España and finished fourth overall. Four times he also took part in the Tour de France, but without much success.

After his retirement from cycling Bas Maliepaard worked for the Rijkswaterstaat.
