Bas Roorda

Sebastian Dirk Roorda ( born February 13, 1973 in Assen ) is a Dutch former football goalkeeper, who was most recently with PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie under contract.

Playing career

Bas Roorda began his career as a football player at the Dutch first division club FC Groningen. There he was a four-year contract from 1992 to 1996, but never got beyond the role as goalkeeper. For this reason he left the club in the summer of 1996 and went to league rivals NEC Nijmegen. There he was the next four years always a fixed size. Then he moved to Roda Kerkrade, where he moved back into second place. After all, he came in his first three seasons there still occasionally used in the 2003/2004 season, however, he sat in all the games on the bench.

In summer 2004, Bas Roorda returned to his former club FC Groningen, where he led the next three seasons was henceforth active as goalkeeper. For the 2007/2008 season, he finally signed a lucrative contract as a substitute of Heurelho da Silva Gomes with the Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven. Here he came precisely in order to use in the league longer, but was on 3 April 2008 as a substitute in the 1-1 draw in the UEFA Cup encounter with Fiorentina for 30 minutes guard the gate of Eindhoven once. End of the 2010/11 season he finished his professional career. Since then, he is an employee of the players' union VVCs.

For the 2011/12 season Roorda returned as a youth goalkeeper coach for PSV.
