Bay of Plenty Rugby Union
The Bay of Plenty Rugby Football Union ( BPRU ) is the national rugby union federation for the provincial Bay of Plenty on the North Island of New Zealand. The association and jersey colors are blue and yellow. The selection team of the Association in the national championship ITM Cup wears their home games at Rotorua International Stadium in Rotorua and in Baypark Stadium in Mount Maunganui from.
Bay of Plenty has been a time New Zealand champion (1976 ) and won in August 2004 for the first time a match for the Ranfurly Shield. This trophy they had to hand back in December of the same year. Players from Bay of Plenty are eligible to play in the international Super Rugby League and are summoned by the Chiefs. The association are connected 38 clubs.
