Beamer
The usual in German, Dutch and Latvian name Beamer is a spin-off of the brand name of the first CRT video projector, the Advent Video Beam 1000 ( beam = beam; = beam to beam ), a generic term.
In English, Beamer called something else: It can be a slang term for a vehicle of the BMW brand, or a term in the sport of cricket ( an abnormal quick throw which the batsman reaches too high ).
