Beijing Language and Culture University

The University of Language and Culture Beijing (Chinese北京 语言 大学/北京 语言 大学, Pinyin Běijīng yǔyán Daxue; engl Beijing Language and Culture University, BLCU. ) Is a state university in Beijing ( PRC ) to the especially foreigners, the Chinese study language. It was founded in 1962 and is directly subordinate to the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

The University of Language and Culture Beijing was initially ( yǔyánxuéyuàn Běijīng ,北京 语言 学院, Beijing Language Institute ) under the name Beijing Language Institute and is considered the leading institution in China in this field. Until the early 80s at the Institute many fellows were prepared from other developing countries and socialist countries on a regular course of study at other Chinese universities. Today make paying students, especially from South Korea, the mass of students.

At the Institute, the standardized Chinese HSK exam for foreigners has been developed which is now crucial for the admission of foreign students at Chinese universities.

The BLCU is located in the Haidian District in the immediate vicinity of Peking University and Qinghua University. In recent years, better connected the university district to the city center by building a new subway line and a highway - ring and the BLCU large apartment buildings and many restaurants have been built.
