The Beijing West Railway Station (北京 西 站Chinese, Pinyin Běijīng Xikezhan ), in short: Beijing West (北京 西, Běijīng Xī ) is located in western Beijing's Xuanwu District. It was opened in 1996 after three years of construction. The cost was converted $ 750 million. Since then, the long-distance routes begin in the west and south of China from here, the routes to the north and east, however, continue to begin at the Central Station. The high-speed train to Tianjin and Shanghai start at South Station.
The station was expanded in 2000 and covers an area of over 510,000 square meters, making it the largest railway station in Asia. On an average day 150000-180000 passengers are carried, even at peak times, up to 400,000 per day.
Stretch
- The Jing -Jiu - line to Kowloon in the special administrative region of Hong Kong starts from here.
- The direct trains the Lhasa railway to Lhasa in Tibet go from here.
- The Jinggang high-speed line over Wuhan and Guangzhou to Hong Kong will start here. The Wuhan-Guangzhou section was taken in late 2009.
- The Jing - Bao- line to Baotou starts here.
- Other trails lead to Wuhan, Xi'an, Chengdu, Changsha, Xiamen, Guilin, Hohhot, Jinan, Urumqi
