The Beijing West Railway Station (北京 西 站Chinese, Pinyin Běijīng Xikezhan ), in short: Beijing West (北京 西, Běijīng Xī ) is located in western Beijing's Xuanwu District. It was opened in 1996 after three years of construction. The cost was converted $ 750 million. Since then, the long-distance routes begin in the west and south of China from here, the routes to the north and east, however, continue to begin at the Central Station. The high-speed train to Tianjin and Shanghai start at South Station.

The station was expanded in 2000 and covers an area of ​​over 510,000 square meters, making it the largest railway station in Asia. On an average day 150000-180000 passengers are carried, even at peak times, up to 400,000 per day.
