Belfius

Belfius ( in Dutch Belfius Bank & Verzekeringen, in French Belfius Banque et Assurances ) (before March 1, 2012 Dexia Bank Belgium ) is a company that offers banking and insurance services. It is a commercial corporation whose first appointment was to respond to the needs of local authorities. It emerged from the dismantling of the Dexia Group, of which she was until 10 October 2011. It was been bought for 4 billion euros by the Belgian State. Its registered office is located in Brussels.

Of Dexia Belgium to Belfius

5 September 2011 Jos Clijsters was - appointed President of the Management Committee of Dexia Bank Belgium - at this time advisor to the Management Committee of Dexia AG. He succeeds Stefaan Decraene, who left the group for an international function in another group.

Name and visual identity ( logo)

On March 1, 2012, from Dexia Bank Belgium Belfius banking and insurance. The new name Belfius consists of " Bel " for " Belgium ", "fi" for " Finance " and "us " (English) for " us " together ".

The equal sign in the middle of the logo is not just a mathematical signs, but also stands for the new equilibrium between the bank and its customers. In some words, a locally based Belgian banking and insurance group with the challenge in different ways to create value for the Company with a focus on listening to customers and learning from them.
