Ben Davies (footballer born 1981)

Benjamin James Davies (born 27 May 1981 in Birmingham) is an English football player who is under contract with the second division Derby County since 2011.

Career

Chester City and Shrewsbury Town

After his first stops at FC Walsall and Kidderminster Harriers Ben Davies joined on 9 May 2002 at Chester City. With his team he won in the 2003/04 season the championship in the fünftklassigen Football Conference. After two seasons in the Football League Two signed him on 20 May 2006 Shrewsbury Town. With its also playing in the fourth division team reached new Davies (46 Ligaspiele/12 goals) the play-off final of the season 2006/07. In the final, before 61 589 spectators in Wembley Shrewsbury lost without the injured Ben Davies with 1:3 against Bristol Rovers and thus missing out on promotion. Two years later the club moved again as the table in seventh place play-off final. Notts County and Derby County

On 2 July 2009 Davies moved to league rivals Notts County. After a good start for him again in the Football League One 2010/11, signed him on 20 January 2011, the second division side Derby County. In the second round of the Football League Championship 2010/11 he did not as they had hoped to advantage, however, increased its performance in the 2011/12 season and ended the season with Derby as Tabellenzwölfter.
