Benjamin Marc Ramaroson

Benjamin Marc Ramaroson CM ( born April 25, 1955 in Manakara, Madagascar ) is appointed Archbishop of Antsiranana.

Life

Ramaroson studied for two years after obtaining a Bachelor in Mathematics at the State University of Antananarivo before becoming a member of the Vincentians. On October 15, 1980, he laid aside the monastic vows and on August 15, 1984 he was ordained a priest.

After his ordination he was cathedral minister (1984-1986), a student at the Pontifical Gregorian University (1986-1990), where he made his doctorate in spirituality, Superior of the Vincentians Scholasticate in Fianarantsoa and Professor of Moral Theology (1990-2000), Rector the novitiate of the Vincentians (2000-2001) and since 2001 Provincial of the Vincentians in Madagascar.

On 26 November 2005, he was called by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Bishop of Madagascar Farafangana. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Fianarantsoa, Fulgence Rabemahafaly, on 25 March of the following year. Co-consecrators were retired bishop of Tolagnaro, Jean -Pierre -Dominique Zévaco, and the Bishop of Ihosy Philippe Ranaivomanana.

On November 27, 2013, Pope Francis appointed Archbishop of Antsiranana.
