Berend Jan Udink

Berend Jan Udink ( born February 12, 1926 in Deventer, Overijssel ) is a former Dutch politician and manager of the Historic Christelijk - Unie ( CHU ) and the Christian - Democratisch Appèl (CDA ), which, among other Minister and a member of the Second Chamber of the States-General was.

Studies and professional activities

After visiting the Hogere Burger School in Utrecht Udink began in 1945 to study economics at the Higher School of Economics Rotterdam, which he completed in June 1952. After graduating, he began his professional career in 1953 at the Rotterdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in which he was first deputy secretary and then secretary from 1958 to July 1962. In the parliamentary elections in April 1971 Udink was selected as the top candidate of the CHU as a member of the Second Chamber of the States General and belonged to this until 6 July 1971.

On July 6, 1971, he resigned from his position after he was appointed by Prime Minister Barend Biesheuvel Minister for Housing and Planning in the cabinet, and this remained until the end of Biesheuvels term of office on 11 May 1973.

After leaving the government, he was appointed Commander of the Order of Orange -Nassau for his political achievements on 8 June 1973.
