Berlevaag? / I ( Sat. Bearalváhki ) is a commune in the Norwegian province (county ) Finnmark. The administrative center of the municipality is located in the homonymous village Berlevaag, which lies on the coast of the Barents Sea.

Economy

The inhabitants live mainly from fishing and its products. There is also a workshop for mechanics.

Traffic

In Berlevaag the Hurtigruten ships call only since 1975, as it is protected from large tetrapods only since that date the harbor. The tetrapods have a weight of about 15 tons and also keep 10 -meter-high waves stood. Nevertheless, it can not be approached even today in rough seas of the harbor.

Until the opening of the new outer harbor, the passengers and the cargo were brought only by the expedition boat ashore, then with a fishing boat. From 1910 to 1929 fishing boat with motor was used. From 1929, a special boat with 43 ​​gross tons was put into operation. These boats were used until the completion of the outer harbor in December 1974.

The Berlevaag Airport is approximately three kilometers north-west of the village and can be reached Fv271 from there across the street.

In the village the road Fv890 which opens after a distance of around 135 kilometers at Tana bru in the European Route 6 begins.
