Bernard Tomic

Bernard Tomic (born 21 October 1992 in Stuttgart, Germany ) is an Australian tennis player. He lives in Gold Coast, Australia. As a junior Tomic won three times - as U12, U14 and U16 - players - the Orange Bowl, one of the most important youth tournaments. For this he won the Australian team to the Davis Cup for juniors. For special stir he caused when he age of sixteen - and as young as no player before - a match at the Australian Open 2009 won.

Life

Tomic was born in Stuttgart, with three and a half years he left with his Croatian parents Germany to move to Australia.

Single Career

Tomic began at the age of seven years with the sport of tennis. As a 13 -year-old qualifier, he won his first tournament, the U18 Canterbury Championships, in the final in straight sets against Oh Dae- soung. Until the summer, he took up in other competitions and won another tournament. After he had retired at the Oceania Junior Championship in the quarter -finals, he also went to the Asiatisch-/Ozeanischen Championship at the start and even reached the semi-finals, where he defeated his compatriot Greg Jones.

Double - career

Also in 2006, Tomic played his first tournament in a double, the oceanic Closed Junior Championships in Fiji, where he had to retire with Mark Verryth already in the first round. Shortly thereafter, he won with two different double partners Verryth and Brendan McKenzie, both games at the Junior Davis Cup against France and Morocco.
