Bernt Ivar Eidsvig

Bernt Ivar Eidsvig CRSA, religious name Markus ( born September 12, 1953 in Rjukan, Norway) is a bishop of the Diocese of Oslo and Apostolic Administrator of the Prelature of Trondheim.

Life

He studied Protestant theology in Oslo and in 1976 a theological candidate. On 20 December 1977 he converted to Catholicism and was ordained priest on 20 June 1982. He was chaplain and later pastor of Bergen. In 1991, he joined the Augustinian Canons in Klosterneuburg ( Austria ), became the habit on August 27 and received the religious name Markus. His solemn profession was on 28 August 1995. From 1996 he was master of novices, 1997-2003 pastor in St. Leopold ( Klosterneuburg ).
