Betadevario ramachandrani

Betadevario ramachandrani is a freshwater fish of the family Cyprinidae, which is endemic in the upper Sita River in the Indian state of Karnataka. The genus name Betadevario emphasizes firstly the similarity and affinity with the genus devario and here means something like " second devario". Second, it honors the catcher of type specimens Beta Mahatvaraj. The Style epithet ramachandrani was awarded in honor of Alappat Ramachandran, a professor at the Cochin University of Science and Technology.

Features
