Bezděkov nad Metují

Bezděkov nad Metují ( German Bösig at the Mettau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers north east of Náchod and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Bezděkov is on the left above the valley of Mettau on the southwestern edge of the Falk Mountains. In the valley lies the station Police nad Metují.

Neighboring towns are Radešov, Velka Ledhuje and Police nad Metují in the north, Suchy Dul and Slavny in the northeast, Bělý in the east, Machov and Nizka Srbská the southeast, Vysoká Srbská in the south, Žabokrky and Velky Dřevíč the southwest, Petrovičky in the west and Petro Vice in the northwest.

History

The area was one of the proven since 1201 Újezd ​​Poličky ( Politzer Sprengel ). Bezděkov was one of the villages that were founded in 1241 by the monastery Břevnov as part of the settlement of the frontier forest. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1358th

The village and the farm Bezděkov were among the possessions of the monastery policy. After the Hussite wars there was a separation of the court that came to the country gentleman Petr. 1558 gave the monastery the place Bezděkov his servants Stanislav Sladovský of Sladov. From his descendants the monastery acquired in 1624 the place back. The Berni rula has five farmers, three sojourners and 13 gardeners points for the village.

1724 the abbot Othmar Daniel Zinke build a new church in Bezděkov. After the abolition of patrimonial Bezděkov in 1848 to independent community to which belonged the district Radešov.
