Bhagavad-Gītā As It Is

Bhagavad -gītā as it is a translation and commentary on the Bhagavad -gita by Abhay Charan Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON ). The work was published in 1968 under the original English title Bhagavad- Gītā As It Is by Macmillan Publishers in London, the German -language edition was published in an editorial fashion in 1987 at the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust in Zurich.

The authored by Prabhupada work offers an original Sanskrit verses in Devanagari and in a Latin transliteration. The following is a word - for-word translation, then the translation of each verse with explanatory notes. The Bhagavad -gītā as it is next to the Srimad Bhagavatam is one of the most important writings of ISKCON and other Gaudiya Vaishnava organizations. The author comments on the Bhagavad -gita in the interpretation of the Gaudiya Vaishnavas of Bengal Vaishnavism.
