Big Boss Man (wrestler)

Raymond " Ray" Traylor ( born 2 May 1962 in Marietta, Georgia, United States, † 22 September 2004 in Paulding County, Georgia, United States ) was an American professional wrestler, under the name Big in the World Wrestling Federation Bossman was known.

Prior to his wrestling career Ray Traylor was jailer. In 1985, he finally began wrestling and debuted in 1986 in the AWA and the National Wrestling Alliance belonging to Jim Crockett Promotion. He initially joined as a jobber under his real name. Booker and wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes saw potential in Traylor and gave him the gimmick Big Bubba Rogers and let him perform as a bodyguard by Jim Cornette. After a feud with Dusty Rhodes just that he joined the Universal Wrestling Federation, where he his future tag team partner One Man Gang was allowed to pick up the title there, as it joined the WWF.

Career

Followed in 1988 Traylor also in the WWF and got, fittingly, the gimmick of a jailer called The Big Boss Man. He acted first as a villain and allowed the reigning champion Hulk Hogan challenged several times, but never received the title.

In September of the same year he got with Akeem ( the former One Man Gang ) has a tag team partner and the team The Twin Towers was founded. There was a feud with the new tag team The Mega Powers, consisting of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage, started. Although the team never got to hold the World Tag Team Titles, it was a significant part of the storyline to the incipient feud between Hogan and Savage. After the team at Wrestlemania 5 was allowed to defeat the antretenden as The Rockers Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, a separation of the team was prepared by the WWF, where Traylor to Face was. The former team came at WrestleMania 6 against each other and Traylor was victorious.

Acting as Facebook, now he feuded in the aftermath mainly with midcard villains. He stepped in some cases along with Hulk Hogan in team matches in the main event. After a defeat at the Royal Rumble in 1993 against Bam Bam Bigelow joined Traylor, after a short time in Japan, to WCW.

He initially joined under one very similar gimmick, as in the WWF, under the name of The Boss. This had, however, be due to litigation, converted and then the WCW called him from now on The Guardian Angel. He feuded with Big Van Vader 1994 before 1995 again his gimmick was changed. He now returned to the original Big Bubba Rogers character with which he had begun his career and worked in a feud with WCW legend Sting program. After he was a member of the groupings Dungeon of Doom and the nWo, he returned back to the WWF in 1998.

On October 12, 1998, he came as externally slightly modified, Big Boss Man back to the then WWF Raw is War main show. He was involved on the side of McMahons, in its ongoing feuds with Steve Austin and the D- Generation X, and thus its status elevated compared to the enormous in WCW. He could win with Ken Shamrock WWF World Tag Team Championship, and the WWF Hardcore Championship four times. In addition, he played along with the Undertaker has become known a Hell in a Cell match, in which he was hanged by the latter, of course, trick technically, since he had to pause.

After his break, he began a feud with The Big Show for the WWF Champion, in the course of which he could also defeat the then superstar The Rock, but ultimately The Big Show should be subject.

After briefly with Bull Buchanan formed a team and finally had to recovering from an injury, he formed in late 2001 for a short time a tag team with Booker T. After another short-lived team with Mr.Perfect he was as a trainer in WWE's developmental league Ohio Valley Wrestling set before he finally left the organization in 2003.

Then he had some appearances in Japan, before he died of a heart attack on 22 September 2004 at the age of 42 years. His wife found him lifeless in front of a room of the apartment. Attempts to revive the added called paramedics were unsuccessful. Ray Traylor was married and had two daughters.
