Bilbeis (Arabic بلبيس, DMG Bilbais, Coptic Phelbs ) is an ancient fortress city on the eastern edge of the southern Nile delta in the Egyptian governorate ash Sharqiyah.

1163 Crusaders besieged the city. 1798 its fortifications were built by order of Napoleon again.
