Bill Kelliher

Bill Kelliher ( born March 23, 1971) is an American guitarist. He is a founding member of the band Mastodon and played previously with Lethargy and Today Is the Day.

Career

Kelliher played from 1994 when the band Lethargy, where he replaced Brian Steltz. With Lethargy he took in 1996 to their only studio album, It's Hard to Write with a Little Hand. Together with the drummer Brann Dailor Kelliher moved to Today Is the Day and played the album In the Eyes of God, published in 1999 a. A short time later moved Kelliher together with Dailor from Rochester to Atlanta and founded with guitarist Brent Hinds and bassist Troy Sanders, the band Mastodon.

In 2007, Kelliher won along with Brent Hinds the Golden God Award from the British magazine Metal Hammer in the Best Shredder category. During a tour supporting Slayer Kelliher had to be hospitalized on November 3, 2008 due to an acute Bauspeicheldrüsenentzündung. In the following years he had due to high alcohol consumption, are hospitalized more times. In summer 2010, the band had to cancel a summer tour.

Bill Kelliher is married and has two sons.
