Bill McDougall

William Henry " Bill" McDougall ( born August 10, 1966 in Mississauga, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1989 to 2008 among others for the Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League, as well as the Munich Barons played in the DEL.

Career

Bill McDougall began his career as a hockey player with the Erie Panthers, for whom he was active in the 1989/90 season in the East Coast Hockey League. During his first professional season, he was on 9 January 1990 levels as a free agent by the Detroit Red Wings, for which he in the season 1990/91 his debut in the National Hockey League, announced where he gave a presentation in a total of three games. The remaining time in the franchise of the Detroit Red Wings spent the attacker at their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Adirondack Red Wings. On February 22, 1992 it was Detroit in exchange for Max Middendorf to the Edmonton Oilers from, with their AHL farm team, he is in the 1992/93 season the Calder Cup won. In August 1993, the right-handed shooter was committed as a free agent by the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he in 1993/94 season in 22 games six scorer points, including three goals.

In summer 1994, McDougall was the first time to Europe, where he played in the 1994/95 season for the HC Courmaosta in the Italian Serie A. The following season he began the HDD Olimpija Ljubljana, which was at the end of the season Slovenian champion. Even during the season changed the Canadians to EV train from the Swiss National League A, with whom he was Swiss champion for the first time in 1998. This success was repeated a year later the Center with the HC Lugano, after he started the season in their league rival Kloten Flyers.
