Band History

After leaving the Rolling Stones, Wyman attacked two years rarely for bass and devoted himself instead to other projects such as the writing of books and photography. End of 1995, he felt again like to make music, but no commercial: He decided to return to his musical roots. Wyman began at home to jam with Terry Taylor and soon the idea of playing together with several artists emerged. Wyman contacted Georgie Fame, the guitarist Albert Lee, Peter Frampton, Andy Fairweather -Low and pianist Gary Brooker. Fairweather -Low and Brooker had already played in the late 1980s with Wyman 's band Willie and the Poor Boys. This was supplemented by the pianist David Hartley, the singer Beverley Skeete and guitarist Martin Taylor. Bill Wyman says of the style of work:

"We began to record anything did came to at least The benefit of working in this way - apart form the spontaneous atmosphere we created, what did i could pick and chose musicians for the Particular style I wanted for each track. "

"We started to take everything that came to mind. The good thing about this style of work, apart from the spontaneous atmosphere, was that I could choose the musicians that fit the particular style I wanted for a number. "

The result of this work was the debut album of the Rhythm Kings Struttin 'Our Stuff. Soon the band began with live performances in small clubs in Northern Europe. Since then, the Rhythm Kings have worked on tour in Europe a wide following and toured in 2001 and in the U.S., but until now remained their only U.S. tour. The strength of the band dressed a critic in the following words:

" First-class musicians who have to prove anything to anyone anymore, playing classic rock tunes by Chuck Berry on Clifton Chenier to Screaming Jay Hawkins, complement each other in perfect harmony, alternate constantly into singing and instrumental solo passages that clearly have fun together. "
