Mike Sanchez
Jesus Miguel "Mike" Sanchez ( born February 17, 1964 in Hackney, London, England ) is an English blues, boogie -woogie, rockabilly and rhythm 'n Blue pianist, guitarist and singer.
Life
After he had moved at the age of eleven years with his parents in the English Midlands, he began to play the piano. His great musical preference was for the U.S. rockabilly. His first major role models were Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard, whose musical style he admired. As a teenager, he formed a trio that played this music.
A short time later, Robert Plant ( Led Zeppelin) Sanchez before the former member of Chicken Shack and Savoy Brown Andy Silvester, which then the Big Town Playboys founded, a band that post-war Rhythm & Blues devoted himself. Garry Brooker, Procol Harum of the former pianist, introduced him to Eric Clapton and Andy Fairweather - Low, the latter was played in the 1990s, guitarist of Big Town Playboys.Die band as the opening act for Eric Clapton, occurred in many European music festivals on and accompanied American blues musicians as Lowell Fulson, Don & Dewey, Joe Hughes, Jimmy Nelson, Carey Bell and Little Willie Littlefield. After the group disbanded in 1999, he devoted himself to his solo career and was for four years a member of Bill Wyman 's Rhythm Kings, where he played with Georgie Fame, Beverly Skeete, Albert Lee, Andy Fairweather -Low and Eddie Floyd. In December 2007, he sang at the Led Zeppelin Reunionkonzert in London, a tribute to the late founder of Atlantic Records, Ahmet Ertegun.
Sanchez produced and also took on film scores, such as for I'll Be There ( 2003). His goal is and was to make every live show to his best, what brought him a large following in all age groups. The Blues in Britain magazine chose him from 2000 to 2004 for the UK Keyboard Player of the Year.
