Blaq Poet

Wilbur Bass (born 1970 ), known as Blaq Poet is an American rapper from Queensbridge, New York.

Career

For the first time, was heard Blaq Poet on the song Beat You Down by Bridge Wars 1987, a diss track against KRS -One and Boogie Down Productions. Began in 1991 Blaq Poet and DJ Hot Day, a duo called PhD and released their debut Without Warning on Tuff City Records. After a few singles and an EP they separated in 1996. Blaq Poet founded KL, Hostyle and solo the group Screwball. They released two albums and a compilation before Blaq Poet 2006 solo Rewind: Deja Screw brought out, among other things, produced by DJ Premier. Blaq Poet signed with DJ Premier's label Year Round and published in 2009 Tha Blaqprint, mostly again by DJ Premier produced.
