Blatten ( Lötschen ) ( Valais German: Blattu ) is a Munizipalgemeinde the district west Raron in the German-speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
Geography
Blatten altitude of 1540 meters and is the highest municipality in Loetschental. Through the village flows the Lonza, which springs in the municipality at the Lang Glacier. The commune includes the hamlets Eisten, Ried and Weissenried. The place is located in the area since 2002 a UNESCO World Heritage Site declared mountain Jungfrau-Aletsch -Bietschhorn.
