Błażejowice, Silesian Voivodeship

Błażejowice ( German Blaschowitz ) is an Upper Silesian village in the municipality Wielowieś, powiat Gliwice in Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

From 1936 to 1945 Błażejowice bore the official name of castle rock.

Błażejowice has 317 inhabitants.

Błażejowice is located two kilometers from the municipal seat Wielowieś.

History

Blaschowitz was first mentioned in 1300. The place name derives from a personal name.

1908, the neo-Gothic Nepomuk chapel was built.

In 1945, Castle Rock under Polish administration.

From 1975 to 1998 Błażejowice lay in the newly designed Katowice Voivodeship. In 1999, Błażejowice the new Silesian Voivodeship and in the revived powiat Gliwice.
