Block Lake

F block Lake is a lake in Karrakatta Valley, west-northwest of the whaling station on the island of South Georgia Husvik in the South Atlantic. The lake was dammed and served as a reservoir for the station.

The UK Antarctic Place -Names Committee named the lake in the 1990s by William C. Block. The zoologist block researched invertebrates and was the Department of Terrestrial Zoology and Microbiology of the British Antarctic Survey since 1976 head. He worked many summers at South Georgia and Signy Iceland.
