Blue Dragon Film Awards

The Blue Dragon Awards are the most common rates of the South Korean film industry.

The prizes were awarded since 1963 by the Chosun Ilbo newspaper until the Award Ceremony was set in 1973. In 1990 it was from the sports daily Sports Chosun, again called into life and is held annually ever since.

The categories correspond approximately to those known from the Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay.

However, there are also categories that are based only on public taste, namely the prize for the biggest box office success and the popularity award for the most votes on the internet.
