Blue Springs is a city in Jackson County in the western part of the U.S. state of Missouri. In the census of 2010 Blue Springs had 52 575 inhabitants.

The town is a suburb of Kansas City, and thus also part of the metropolitan Kansas City.

Geography

Blue Springs is located at 39 ° 1'4 " north latitude and 94 ° 16'28 " west longitude and extends over 42.2 km ², which consist almost exclusively of land area. The city is located in the western suburbs of Kansas City, 25 km south of the Missouri River. The border with the neighboring state of Kansas is located approximately 30 km west of Blue Springs.

By Blue Springs performs a railway line of the Union Pacific that runs from Kansas City to the east.
