Boița
Boiţa (Hungarian Bojca, German Ochs village) is a municipality in the district of Sibiu in Transylvania, Romania.
Geographical Location
The place Boiţa lies on the eastern edge of the Marginimea Sibiului, near the Cindrel Mountains, 22 km south of the county capital Sibiu ( Hermannstadt).
History
The surroundings of the town was the site of a Roman military camp. Boiţa was first documented in 1453. The village was next to a weir Red Tower ( Turnu Rosu ), which was erected at the entrance of the Red Tower pass against the Turkish threat and the remains of which are still preserved.
The municipality had around 1910 about 1600 inhabitants, where - as now - Romanians accounted for the vast majority.

Boiţa is located on the busy road Europe 81 The road runs from north-west Romania Sibiu, Vâlcea Râmnicu to Bucharest. On a highway to relieve the national highway is being built.
