Books of Blood

The Books of Blood (English Original Title Books of Blood ) is a collection of horror short stories, written by Clive Barker, who drew the cover for some editions.

Form and content

Overall, Barker wrote six books of blood, titled The First Book of Blood to The sixth book of blood, each with four to six stories. The books, first published in 1984-1985, won two British Fantasy Awards and a World Fantasy Award.

The protagonists of the stories are mostly average people who are involved by accident or unfortunate circumstances in threatening or supernatural events. Although horror stories, Barker used sporadically fantasy elements. As a frame story is the story of a fraudulent medium that is haunted while trying to pretend for its clients paranormal activity in a haunted house by actual ghosts who scratch their stories into his flesh, and therefore almost make a living book of blood from him. The frame story is from the prologue in the first book of Blood: The Book of Blood and the Epilogue of the sixth book of Blood: The Book of Blood ( A postscript ) - On the Jerusalem Street ...
