Börje Tapper

Börje Tapper (* May 20, 1922; † 8 April 1981 ) was a Swedish football player. The striker, who participated with the Swedish national team at the World Cup in 1950, won three times Swedish champion title as well as the National Cup.

Career

Tapper began playing football at Håkanstorps BK. As a teenager, he moved to Malmö FF. Here he was appointed to the men's team, for which he took up in the Allsvenskan. The first big success came to him with the team on the side of Kjell Rosén, Erik Nilsson and Helge Bengtsson in the season 1943/44, when five points clear on IF Elfsborg and AIK the first win of the Swedish league title was won in the club's history. In the same year he reached with the team final of the Svenska Cupen, he decided with three goals in a 4-3 win over IFK Norrköping almost single-handedly.

In the following years, Tapper played regularly with the club to the league title. The contribution Tappers honored the leaders of the Svenska Fotbollförbundet in the fall of 1945, when he made his debut on September 30th of the year in a 6-1 victory over the Finnish national team in the National Jersey. In April 1981, Tapper, who scored as a four-time national player seven international goals, his third heart attack died.

Tappers son Staffan also played for Malmö FF and took the national team to the World Cup tournaments in 1974 and 1978.
