Bornsen is a district of Jübar in Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

The town is located 22 kilometers southwest of the county town of Salzwedel and twelve kilometers east of Lower Saxony Witt rings. Until extending in the southwest state road 244 there are about eight kilometers.

History

Bornsen was first documented in 1375. At an early settlement indicate both located on the outskirts of Bornsen megalithic tombs from the Neolithic period.

By the end of 2009, the former municipality Bornsen belonged to the district Drebenstedt the administrative community Beetzendorf - This village.

Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities Bornsen decided ( on 25 May 2009 ), Hanum ( 3 June 2009 ), Jübar ( 3 June 2009 ), Lüdelsen ( 13 May 2009 ) and Nettgau ( June 4, 2009) decided that their communities dissolved and merged into a new community with the name Jübar. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.
