Borough of Tunbridge Wells

Tunbridge Wells is an administrative district with the status of a borough in the county of Kent in England. It is named after the administrative center of Tunbridge Wells, where almost half the population lives. The Borough is divided into ten districts ( wards ). Eight of them are in the city itself, the other include the surrounding villages. These include Cranbrook, Paddock Wood, Pembury and Southborough.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough of Royal Tunbridge Wells, the Urban District Southborough, the Cranbrook Rural District and most of the Tonbridge Rural District.
