General

Boussens is an old bastide, a city founded in the Middle Ages and largely built in a train in southern France. The establishment of a Bastide was based on economic, political or military considerations.

Since the end of the 19th century led the newfound possibility of the use of water power for energy to industrial activities in Boussens whose center was a water power plant. The three municipalities Mancioux, Roquefort -sur -Garonne and Boussens used a constriction of the Garonne in the Massif du Plantaurel for the construction of this work. From 1912 to 1917 there was therefore a local industry in Mancioux.

Other attractions include the Church of Boussens Saint- Exupère and Gallo -Roman ruins near the village.
