Breithorn (Lauterbrunnen)

The Breithorn from the north, taken from the Schilthorn

It is located between upper horn and the Tschingelhorn. The connection to the Tschingelhorn lies the glaciated Weather gap. To the north, the Breithorn coincides with a 1200 meter high rock and ice wall from the Lauterbrunnen Valley, where it forms an impressive degree.

The mountain was climbed for the first time from the Bernese Alps pioneer Edmund of Fellberg on 31 July 1865. They were joined by the mountain guide, Johann Bischoff, Peter Egger, Peter and Peter Michel Inäbnit from Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.

It is the west ridge of the weather gap forth climb ( Set III. Degrees)
