Brian McKeever

Brian McKeever ( born June 18, 1979 in Calgary, Alberta ) is a Canadian cross-country skier and biathlete. He took part in the Winter Paralympics in 2002 and 2006. In 2010 he participated at the Olympic Winter Games was the first disabled.

Brian McKeever began at the age of three years with the cross-country skiing. At 19, he started getting worse to see and it was diagnosed with Stargardt's disease. Two years later he was officially blind. He only has a vision of ten Prozent.2002 McKeever took part in the Winter Paralympics in Salt Lake City, where he won two gold medals and one silver medal. Four years later he took part in the Winter Paralympics in Turin, where he won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal. 2010 Brian McKeever was nominated for the Canadian cross-country team at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, but not used. He would have been the first winter athlete who had participated in both the Paralympic Winter Games, as well as at the Olympic Winter Games.

At the Winter Paralympics in Sochi in 2014 he won his seventh gold medal in the 20km freestyle competition.
