Bruno Parma

Bruno Parma ( born December 30, 1941 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian, former Yugoslav chess master.

Life

Parma was in the 1960s and 1970s, one of the leading chess players of Yugoslavia. He won in 1961 in The Hague, the World Youth Championships. After a successful tournament in 1963 Beverwijk him the FIDE awarded the title of Grand Master. His greatest achievements were victories in international tournaments in Polanica 1964 Reggio Emilia 1965 and 1970, and in Sarajevo in 1970 (together with Ljubomir Ljubojević ). In 1969 he was in San Juan (Puerto Rico) second behind world champion Boris Spassky.

With the Dortmund Chess days in 1973, he took along with Ulf Andersson shared second place. In the second International German Championship 1973 in Dortmund, he was eighth. His last gewertetes tournament has denied Bruno Parma 1985 in Portoroz (winner Portisch ).

Chess Olympiads

Parma took part in eight chess Olympiads for Yugoslavia 1962-1980. He won with his home country, four silver and two Bronzermedaillen. His last appearance was at the Chess Olympiad 1980 in Valletta, Malta, in which his team won a bronze medal.
