The Federal Highway 226 (abbreviated BAB 226) - Short form: Highway 226 (abbreviated as A 226 ) - is a short motorway in the north of Lübeck.

It was released on 1 May 1938 as part of the route Reichsautobahn Hamburg Lübeck ↔ for traffic. Since the extension of the A 1 towards New Town which has since designated as A 226 route branches off to Bad Schwartau of the A 1 from runs still to Lübeck- Siems ( Kücknitz ) where it discharges into the B 75 Lübeck ↔ Travemünde ( Skandinavienkai ). The Lord tunnel over the B 75 between the exit Siems and Lübeck city center is a toll road.

At the motorway interchange Bad Schwartau there are no direct connections between the northeastern part of the A 1 and A 226, but there is a 1-km long link on roads within Lübeck and the municipality Ratekau between junctions Sereetz on the A 1 and the junction Lübeck- Dänischburg on the A 226
