Burlada

Burlada - Burlata (Spanish / Basque ) is a Spanish municipality in the Autonomous Community of Navarre ( Comunidad Foral de Navarra). It is bordered to the north by Pamplona and Villava, to the east by Huarte, to the south and west Egüés also to Pamplona. The place is located in Pamplona Valley and is part of the extended urban area of the capital of Navarre.

History

Burlada is occupied since the time of the kings of Navarre, ie from the 10th century. The kings had a palace here and used it for recreation. The later destroyed palace had private access to the Romanesque church of the village, which also no longer exists (in the middle of the 20th century destroyed). Another indication of the importance of the place is the Romanesque bridge over the Río Arga.
