Bystré, Vranov nad Topľou District

Bystré ( until 1927 slovak also " Bystrá "; Hungarian Tapolybeszterce - to 1902 Tapolybisztra ) a municipality in Okres Vranov nad Topľou is in the Prešov Region in Slovakia.

Geography

The town lies at the confluence of the creek Hermanovsky creek with the river Topľa, between the Slanské Hills in the south west and the Low Beskid in the north. The center is located at the height of 180 m N.M. and 20 km from Vranov nad Topľou and 25 km from Prešov away.

History

Bystré was founded by a group Schult Heißern and farmers probably in the early 14th century. The first written mention is from the year 1312 through his position on the border of two counties ( Saddle Rosch and Semplin ) that ran here at the creek Hermanovsky creek, the place belonged to two different rule goods. West of the creek to the manor Salzburg ( Solivar ), east them to those of Čičava, Vranov, or Skrabské.

Economy

The main sources of income of the community is agriculture, some small private businesses as well as a cement plant of the company Zeocem as, the cement and zeolite produced.
