Calystegia longipes

Calystegia longipes is a species of the genus of the fence winds ( Calystegia ) from the family of wind plants ( Convolvulaceae ). The species is widespread in the United States.

Description

Calystegia longipes is a subshrub forming a woody, more or less hemispherical caudex as Überdauerungsorgan. The branches are stiff upright or swallowed, and 30 to 100 cm long. The leaf blades have a length of less than 6 cm, they are shaped linear to narrowly triangular. The upper leaves are lobed with linealischen cloth.

The flowering period is May -July. The inflorescences usually consist of a single flower, the inflorescence stems are up to 20 cm in length significantly longer than the accompanying leaves. The bracts are 3-17 mm long, 0.2 to 3 mm wide, linear and lobed at the base often and mostly opposite, about 4 to 50 mm standing below the calyx. The sepals have a length of 8 to 11 mm, the crown is white or cream colored to pale pink or lavender and 28 to 36 mm long.

Dissemination

The species is widespread in California, Nevada and Arizona. It grows on dry, rocky sites at altitudes 600-1300 m.
