Calystegia macrostegia is a species of the genus of the fence winds ( Calystegia ) from the family of wind plants ( Convolvulaceae ). The species is widespread in California and Mexico.

Description

Calystegia macrostegia is a perennial, hairless forms a woody caudex as Überdauerungsorgan up tight short haired shrub or subshrub. The branches are thin, soft and woody climbing up high and climbing. You can reach lengths between 1-9 m. The leaf blades have a length of up to 13 cm and are usually broadly triangular shaped and lobed.

The inflorescences consist of one to several flowers, the inflorescence stems are usually longer than the accompanying leaves. The bracts are 6-37 mm long, 4-30 mm wide, lanceolate to more or less round, entire, flat to baggy and quoting directly below the calyx, and these more or less comprehensive. The sepals have a length of 7 to 25 mm. The crown is white or fading colored pink and has a length of 22-68 mm.

Dissemination

The species is distributed by the Central Coast in California to Mexico along the Pacific endemic. The type usually comes in dry, rocky and more or less coastal areas before at altitudes below 1000 m.
