Calystegia occidentalis is a species of the genus of the fence winds ( Calystegia ) from the family of wind plants ( Convolvulaceae ). The species is widespread endemic in the United States.

Description

Calystegia occidentalis is a finely pubescent to tomentose finely hairy, perennial plant that forms a woody caudex as Überdauerungsorgan. The stems are decumbent to strong climbing. The leaf blade usually has a length of 1.5 to 4 cm, and is more or less noticeable lobed. The lobes are rounded to bicuspid, they form a round up more or less rectangular or pointed arch.

The inflorescences are one to vierblütig and are smaller or slightly longer than the accompanying leaves. The bracts are 5-12 mm long, linear lobed to almost round, sessile or petiolate, entire or how the leaves. You bet from 1 to 15 mm to below the calyx, usually they overlap those without covering it. The sepals have a length of 9 to 15 mm, the crown is white to cream - colored yellow and 20 to 24 mm long.

Dissemination

The species is widespread endemic to California and Oregon, and there is growing on dry slopes in the chaparral and pine forests. It is found at altitudes 300-2700 m.
