Calystegia peirsonii is a species of the genus of the fence winds ( Calystegia ) from the family of wind plants ( Convolvulaceae ). The species is widespread endemic to California.

Description

Calystegia peirsonii is a perennial plant that forms a rhizome than Überdauerungsorgan. The plant is covered more or less glabrous and blue-green. The branches are decumbent to weakly climbing and up to 40 cm long. The leaf blade is narrow triangular, lobed and less than 2 cm long. The lobes are sometimes the same length of the leaf blade, broadest they are at the top, they are usually conspicuous bicuspid, they form a rounded to more or less rectangular sheets.

The inflorescence stems have a length of 2-8 cm and are usually smaller than their accompanying leaves. The bracts are 3-7 mm long, 2.5 to 4 mm wide, elliptic to broadly oblong, entire, flat and stand 0-3 mm below the calyx and overlap them. Sepals have a length of 9 to 13 mm, the crown is white, and 25 to 40 mm long.

Dissemination

The species is known only from the north of the San Gabriel Mountains, California and across the Mojave Desert. It grows on rocky slopes at altitudes between 1000 and 1500 m.
