Calystegia stebbinsii is a species of the genus of the fence winds ( Calystegia ) from the family of wind plants ( Convolvulaceae ). The species is widespread endemic to California.

Description

Calystegia stebbinsii is a perennial plant that a rhizome or a little woody caudex as Überdauerungsorgan. The branches are creeping up and climbing up to 1 m long. The leaves are seven to nine times deep ( 7 to 55 mm) lobed palm -like. The flaps are linear, the central lobe is the longest, the blade edges are generally rolled under.

The inflorescence stems are usually 3 to 13 cm long and thus are far beyond the accompanying leaves out. The bracts are up to 1.8 cm long and similar to the foliage leaves lobed three to nine times. They are well below the calyx and not include it. The sepals are 7-11 mm long and mostly hairless. The crown is creamy yellow and pink tinted more or less, and 30 to 35 mm long.

Dissemination

The species is widespread endemic in the northern Sierra Nevada Foothills and only two populations known. It grows at altitudes around 300 m in chaparral.
