Caméra d'Or

The Film Awards Golden Camera ( Camera d' Or) is awarded on the occasion of the International Film Festival of Cannes.

The award was created in 1978 by the then president Festival Gilles Jacob in order to honor the best debut film. The winner will be determined by an independent, international jury, which consists of film directors, film technicians and critics; so was the jury in 2007 from the director Pavel Lungin, cinematographer Renato Berta, the documentary filmmaker Julie Bertucelli and actress Clotilde Courau.

The award is presented to the director of the film as part of the final ceremony.

Movies that could not win the prize, but nevertheless constitute an exceptional first film, there is a special mention ( Caméra d' Or - Mention Spéciale d' honneur or Mention ).
