Camporredondo District

Camporredondo is one of the 23 districts in the province of Northern Peru Luya in the region of the Amazon.

Originally called Camporredondo Cocochillo. In 1934, ie in the in which it was Camporredondo upgraded to the district capital, it changed its name to Camporredondo, in honor of originating from the Amazon Peruvian President of 1833, Don José Braulio de Camporredondo. The capital Camporredondo also houses the seat of the parish Camporredondo.

In the north, the district borders the district Camporredondo Conila ( Luya ), to the east by the district Ocallí, to the south by the district of Providencia ( Luya ) and in the south- west by the district Chimban.

Sons and daughters of Camporredondo

  • Federico Kauffman Doig was born in Chiclayo, but spent part of his childhood in Camporredondo. He works as a historian and archeologist and is one of the largest capacities in the exploration of Kuelap. In addition, he was a Peruvian ambassador to Germany.
  • César Aguilar Olano is the current president of the private university Alas Peruanas. He has also been active in the 80s for the APRA.
